A man has been sent to prison after a speight of shoplifting and an attempted robbery.
Anthony Monaghan, 58, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Sunday, April 28 and was eventually charged with eight offences of shoplifting and one attempted robbery between January 12 and April 20, 2024.
Monaghan appeared before Lancashire Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, April 30, and was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison for the shoplifting offences.
He will reappear before Preston Crown Court on May 29 in relation to the attempted robbery offence.
